Jack's Story:
Jack was found as a stray and was taken to a shelter. When we took him from the shelter to be brought into a foster home, he had a rabies tag on. We called the veterinarian who issued the rabies tag to see if we could get any information on any vetting his previous owner had done to avoid duplicating innoculations. The vet told us he had only been seen once last August for a distemper shot and a rabies shot with a free city certificate. The owner declined all of the other important stuff like heartworm test, deworming, neutering... So that is probably why Jack was sitting in the shelter unclaimed. They didn't care enough to see to his health needs, they certainly didn't care enough to reclaim him. But now we have brought Jack up to date on everything and will be neutered prior to placement. Because we know that he had a rabies shot within the past year, the shot he gets from us will be good for the next 3 years. Jack is 2 years old and and is a very nice weight at 40 pounds. He is very friendly and affectionate. He likes nothing more than laying on the floor and getting belly rubs or just having someone scratch his head. Jack gets along great with other dogs, is fine with cats and likes kids. He's an all around nice, easy-going, and easy to care for dog.
