While Lucy was an absolutely wonderful dog in her foster home, she became increasingly aggressive towards visitors to the home. Because we felt this posed a potential serious risk to adopters, we decided not to place Lucy for adoption.
LUCY'S STORY
Lucy is about 2 years old and weighs 40 pounds. She had been found living on the front porch of a burnt down house. Apparently, the family left during the house fire and never came back for Lucy. So after waiting in vain, Lucy was picked up by animal control and taken to a shelter where she lived for 2 months. The shelter requested that we take Lucy into our care since she was a favorite of the staff and they wanted to see her get out of the shelter environment. Upon arriving in her foster home, she was somewhat overwhelmed and went directly into her crate, happy to remain there. That only lasted for about 24 hours. Once given a chance to relax and see that she was in a safe, quiet place, Lucy came out of her shell and instantly became a very playful, affectionate and happy dog. She loves tennis balls and stuffed toys and entertains herself nicely with them. She appears to be house trained. Lucy has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on shots and is heartworm negative.
