SCHNITZEL WAS ADOPTED JULY 31, 2000!
CONGRATULATIONS TO SCHNITZEL AND HER NEW FAMILY!
Schnitzel sure did know which house to pick when she was lost and wandering the streets with no place to go.  She sat on the front porch of the house of one of our volunteers, looking at the front door.  That volunteer's dogs started barking and when she went to investigate, there was Schnitzel.
Schnitzel was very hungry and thirsty.  She drank two bowls of water and gobbled up her dinner and a couple of dog cookies.  Ach Du Lieber!  She then settled down in her crate on a soft quilt and fell into a deep sleep.  How do I know that it was a deep sleep, you ask?  Well, Freulein Schnitzel snores, that's how I know!
We don't how long Schnitzel had been on the road but her wandering days are over.  She is staying in a foster home until her 7 day hold is up (to give her owners a chance to claim her) and effective July 31 she will be available for adoption.
Schnitzel is a very sweet girl.  She gets along well with other dogs and cats.   She is housebroken and doesn't mind being crated.  We estimate her to be 3-4 years old.  When you sit on the couch, she jumps right up and snuggles up next to you.  She certainly is a people dog!
