SKEEZER WAS ADOPTED JUNE 27, 2000!
CONGRATULATIONS TO SKEEZER AND HER NEW MOM!
SKEEZER'S STORY:  (June 24, 2000)
Am I not just the cutest thing you ever saw?  I am a 10 pound Cairn Terrier/Schnauzer mix.  Makes you wonder how someone could put me in an old rabbit cage and abandon me in front of the animal control building is, doesn't it?   After all, I am only 5-6 months old - just a baby!  I was taken to the veterinarian where the Doc checked me over and said I look really healthy.  Got my shots, Heartguard so I don't get heartworms and Frontline to keep any icky would be parasites (ticks and fleas) off of my freshly bathed body.  I am now in a foster home where I am fed Science Diet Puppy Food (compliments of a generous donor)  - only the best for this girl!
OK, so I admit, I was a bit whiny and yippy the first few hours.  I mean, after all, I was in a strange place and put in this crate.  Was I going to be taken somewhere and abandoned again?  But my foster mom told me that as long as I was throwing a fit, she was not going to let me out of the crate.  I learned very quickly that when I am quiet I get taken outside often and go for walks.  So I stopped my complaining and I slept through the whole first night, good as gold and never made a sound.  (And I have done so every night since.)  I have had no accidents in the crate or in the house when I have been running free for short periods of time.  I always "go" when my foster mom takes me outside.  When she tells me I am a good girl, I just beam with pride.  I did discover that it is quite fun to bark at and chase the cats and kittens around.  It gets them really upset and they pouf up to about twice their size!  Well, my foster mom didn't think it was so funny so that got me put back in my crate for a time out.  Anyway, I am a little afraid of the huge Doberman Pinscher that lives here so I think maybe my crate is an OK place to be after all!  I mean, he doesn't do anything other than sniff at me but I'd rather play it safe so I run into my crate when he is in pursuit.  The other dogs are a little bit smaller and I am cool with them.
Did I ever have fun tonight.  My foster mom and her friend walked to get Italian Ices and took the other foster dog, Dixie, and me along!  There were kids there and I just loved visiting with the kids while we were waiting in line.  My tail was going a mile a minute and I got lots of attention.  Dixie and I sat and behaved ourselves while the ladies ate their ices and the best thing of all - they saved some for us!  Yummy!  We then trotted back home, I had dinner and now <yawn> I think I am ready for my crate and bedtime!
