BAXTER WAS ADOPTED AUGUST 17, 2007!
Baxter had been found as a stray and sat unclaimed in a shelter. He is now in one of our foster homes. He's a delightful little guy who gets along great with other dogs, even really big dogs! He does bark at cats so he might not do well living in a home with cats. He is very friendly and affectionate and loves to snuggle up for a nap.
Baxter has the most unique coloring. We have never seen a brindle Shih Tzu before, but brindle he is. His colors are white, beige and gray. Baxter has been completely shaved down but he was that way when we found him at the shelter so we don't know if the shelter had him stripped or if he was found that way. We tend to think the volunteer groomer at the shelter shaved him since it looks like a fresh trim job. He had most likely been found in horribly matted condition, which is usually the case with this breed. Please understand that by taking on such a dog, regular professional grooming is MANDATORY! It is cruel to let a dog get into unkempt condition.
Baxter is very playful. Throw him a toy and he has a great time with it. Baxter is around 2 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He will be ready for adoption after he is neutered and microchipped on August 21. We will be accepting applications in the meantime.
