BLAZE WAS ADOPTED DECEMBER 9, 2000

UPDATE FROM BLAZE'S NEW MOM:
Blaze is doing great and has definitely become one of the family.  The poor cat definitely doesn't like the car, he cried all the way home and then all the way to his vet visit!  He spent several days looking for Louise but then settled down.  It really helped that someone was home all day the first week or so.  After much searching we found the mylar balls he likes so much.  He still is a messy eater-food everywhere and the paws are always in the water! He is a lot of fun and very curious about everything that goes on around him.  I am delighted that his whole family was adopted and am sorry I didn't think to have his picture taken with Santa too.  Thank you for taking care of him and organizing Companion Critters, Inc.

Blaze, part of a litter of 5, was born on about August 12 to a mom that had been severely abused and then tossed out into the streets by her family when they moved.  Some caring neighbors housed the mom cat and her litter in a shed and cared for them until the kittens were old enough to leave their mom.  At that point, the kittens went to the vet for leukemia testing (all negative), deworming and their first shots, then into a foster home where they were freed of fleas and set up in a huge crate with an assortment of kitty accessories.  Initially they were all very frightened, never having been in a home before.  Not to mention the fact that there were other cats and dogs running around the house - a very overwhelming experience for these little guys who had never known life other than in a shed.

Within less than a week all kittens had made wonderful progress in acclimating to their new surrounding.  Blaze now plays with the other cats in the house and goes nose to nose with the dogs through the crate bars.  He loves his time out of the crate when he can run around the room chasing and pouncing on his siblings and exploring all of the new things which pique his curiosity.
