SALLY (now Princess) WAS ADOPTED DECEMBER 14, 2000 and she will be starting a career as a therapy dog visiting people in hospitals!
UPDATE:
The ride home went very well.  She just sat down in the back seat once she could no longer see your house.  She is incredibly smart and I think will be quite easy to train.  I took her on a walk earlier and I scooped my first doodoo so I guess that means that I am officially her mom. :-}

Her appetite is completely back so don't worry about that.  My cats were not pleased that she got hamburger and they got cat food but I'm sure they will forgive me.  I'm still introducing them to each other slowly. They've checked her out but don't come closer than about 10 feet.  I'm sure once everyone settles down they will all respect each other and things will be fine.

I swung by my vet to introduce her.  He knows me well because of my cats.  Anyway, he thought she was really great too.  They asked for your organization information and said that they would direct anyone who is looking to adopt a pet to you.

Last night my husband and I gave her a full body massage for nearly 2 hours so she would feel welcome.  Now you know what I meant about my pets being royalty.  Today I took her out to visit to show her off so she is tired and asleep at my feet right now.

And my boys (cats) slept under the covers with me last night so I guess they forgave me for giving Princess hamburger last night.

SALLY'S STORY:
Somebody moved out of their apartment and abandoned Sally there with a litter of 7 puppies.  They were all taken to the shelter where the puppies were adopted out, leaving Sally behind.  She has now been sprung from the shelter, after being there for 10 months, and is in a foster home.  Sally is about 2 years old, weighs 31 pounds and has a very sweet personality.  In fact, our veterinarian said that if he had room for another dog at home, he would take her in a heartbeat.  Sally is so grateful to be out of the shelter that she will sit in front of her foster mom with a look on her face as if she is saying "thank you".  As soon as she is told to go to her crate, she immediately runs in and remains quiet while crated.  She gets along great with other dogs and cats.  Sally has now been spayed so she won't ever have to do the puppy thing again.
