PETEY WAS ADOPTED DECEMBER 23, 2000
UPDATE:
Petey's first night with us was uneventful. He and Heidi (the Dachshund) are in the process of bonding. We are paying special attention to Heidi so that she does not get jealous. Heidi has already cleaned Petey's ears. We try to confine Petey to one area but he is most curious and wants to see the rest of the house.  He is using the litter box and eating well.  So, we hope he will live out his lifetime with us and that he and Heidi become best buddies.

PETEY'S STORY:
This little baby was found as a stray at about 4 weeks old and was taken to the shelter.  He is very friendly so that leads us to believe he was born in a home and was exposed to people during the first weeks of his life.  So how does such a little baby become a stray on the streets in the middle of winter?  Well, we will leave that to your imagination.  But those days are behind him now.  Petey is now 6 weeks old (12/20) and is in a foster home.  He has received his first kitten shot and has tested negative for feline leukemia.  He really enjoys the company of other cats and doesn't mind dogs at all.
