SNOOPY WAS ADOPTED JUNE 18, 2000!
CONGRATULATIONS TO SNOOPY (now known as Murphy) AND HIS NEW FAMILY!
June 25, 2000 Follow Up Phone Call:
Murphy's mom has promised to send post adoption pictures to put on Murphy's web page because we forgot to take the pictures before letting Murphy to go his new home.   Murphy's mom reports that after being very timid and shy for the first 3 days, Murphy has started to act like a real dog running around the yard and playing and just plain old being a happy guy!  Murphy only needs to be told "no" once when he is headed for mischief and he obeys immediately.  His favorite place to sleep is on one of the stairs, making descending the stairs quite dangerous for the family if they aren't paying attention!  Murphy loves to share cheddar flavored Goldfish with his family.  The whole family reports they are very pleased with Murphy and he is a keeper!
[soon to come pictures!]
Poor Snoopy looks a little shell shocked in his pictures.  That is because they were taken right after his exciting first day out of the pound...
Snoopy found himself at the Linden Animal Shelter and there was nobody to help him because all of the foster homes were full.  Well, as luck would have it, a foster dog was adopted and that opened up a spot for Snoopy.  So Snoopy was whisked out of the pound and taken directly to the veterinarian where he was examined and found to be in good health.  Snoopy got his shots, was wormed, and blood was drawn for his heartworm test.  Snoopy is about 1 year old and fully grown at 22 pounds.  His neutering appointment was also scheduled.
Once in his foster home, Snoopy was put in a tub of warm soapy water and bathed.  First with flea shampoo, just in case...  Whew!  No fleas!  Then 3 shampoos with antibacterial deodorizing shampoo to get rid of that icky dog pound odor.  The result, as you can see to the left, blinding white fur and just imagine, if you can, a pleasant and clean smell!  A new ID tag and collar, a bowl of delicious dog food for dinner, and Snoopy was all set!  He now eagerly awaits applicants for his adoption!
